uPlayMe is a service allowing people to find new entertainment and meet new people. We do this by working with your favorite media player and keeping track of the music and videos you love, and finding other people who love the same type of stuff. We tell you about these other people, and you can check out what they are listening to or watching, and you can send them a message. uPlayMe also allows you to post the music you play on your social network profile or blog. This way friends can see what you play and even hear samples. The best part is we do all of this for free, and you just keep on doing what you already do: listening to the music you love and watching the videos you love -- we take care of the rest.

We are ad-based.

The only information we use is meta-data (track names, artist names, etc…), and we need this information to find out your entertainment preferences. We will never sell or share your personal information.

uPlayMe is not a media player. We feel that you probably like your current media player a lot. So we chose to work with your favorite media player. To see a list look below…

Nope, your songs stay with you. We just upload the metadata, such as the artist name, song name, etc..

1. Register & Download our Mac Client here
2. Open the DMG file and follow a few simple steps. Thats it!

1. Register & Download our Windows Client here
2. Double click the executable to install. That’s it!

Drag the uPlayMe application from your applications folder into the trash. That’s it!

From your Start Menu:

1. select Programs,
2. then select uPlayMe,
3. then ‘uninstall uPlayMe’

That’s it!

uPlayMe is currently fixing an issue with Vista. In the meantime, there is an easy workaround.

1. Goto Start->Control Panel->User Accounts.
2. Select "Turn User Access Control On or Off".
3. Uncheck the checkbox and hit "OK".

(Note that this will allow applications to write to directories without having admin status.)

1. Stop both the media player and uPlayMe. Then start them up again.
2. Make sure the media player is one listed above
3. Make sure your operating system is listed above

The first step is to make sure the songs are showing up in the uPlayMe desktop application. If not, see the entry above dealing with getting the client working

If the songs are showing up just in your desktop application, but not in your widget please try:

1. Refresh your browser’s cache

To refresh Cache in Internet Explorer:

1. Choose tools from menu.
2. Select Internet Options.
3. In the leftmost tab ‘General’,
4. chose ‘Delete Files’

To refresh Cache in Firefox:

1. Choose tools from menu.
2. Select ‘clear private data’
2. If the above does not work, please delete the widget from your blog or profile page and re-install it from here
